ResourceSmart Schools Awards – How to enter

Nominations for the 2024 ResourceSmart Schools Awards are now closed.

This year we’re celebrating 15 years of ResourceSmart Schools Awards with the theme ‘Legendary Legacies what will you leave behind?’.

Every passed on activity becomes a legacy when followed and we believe the efforts and impacts made by schools are legendary and deserve recognition.

Check out the categories and find one (or more) that reflects your achievements.

Award categories

  • Campus Infrastructure and Operations
  • Emerging School of the Year
  • School Volunteer of the Year
  • Teacher of the Year (primary and secondary)
  • Student Action Team of the Year (primary and secondary)
  • Community Leadership School of the Year (primary and secondary)
  • Curriculum Leadership School of the Year (primary and secondary)
  • ResourceSmart School of the Year.

Eligibility

Only active ResourceSmart Schools were eligible to enter. Schools must have completed an action in ResourceSmart Schools Online between 1 July 2023 to 28 March 2024.

The following categories have special eligibility criteria:

  • RSS of the Year: Schools entering the ResourceSmart School of the Year category must have at least 3Star ResourceSmart Schools certification.
  • Volunteer of the Year: To qualify as a volunteer, the individual or group must not have been remunerated for their time/activities.
  • Emerging school of the Year: The school must have signed an RSS MOU during 1 July 2022 – 28 March 2024 for the first time and/or set a resource baseline during 1 July 2022 – 28 March 2024.
