Small acts make a big impact
Your everyday actions can help create a more sustainable Victoria where nothing goes to waste.
Recycling is changing for the better
Your household waste and recycling services are improving so more can be made from your recycling. The improvements include new glass recycling and food and garden organics recycling services.
You can help by checking what belongs in your bins. It might seem like a small thing to sort your waste properly, but it makes a big impact when we all do it correctly.

Save money and food
The average Victorian household throws out about $2,200 worth of food each year. Cut your food waste and your grocery bills.

Reduce waste through reuse
Single-use items that we throw out after using for only minutes can impact our environment for thousands of years.

Drop off used batteries and electronics for recycling
Batteries and electronics can't be put in any bin as they can cause fires. Check your council website for drop-off points instead.
