The Investment Facilitation Grant funding addresses small scale financial barriers faced by businesses to invest in infrastructure that diverts waste from landfill, targeting identified niche markets and opportunities in the circular economy.

Recycling soft plastics into plastic crude oil

Funding amount: $250,000
Funding to support APR Plastics to purchase and install a modular 5 tonne per day processing plant for converting kerbside flexible plastic waste into plastic crude oil, which will then be processed by a refinery back into a raw substance that can be used by the plastic manufacturing industry.

Chemical recycling feasibility study

Funding source: Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions: Victorian Jobs and Investment Fund delivered by Sustainability Victoria
Funding amount: $730,000
Funding to support Qenos to deliver a feasibility study assessing the viability of establishing a chemical recycling facility of residual plastics back into the raw ingredient for circular plastic manufacturing.
