Circular Economy Infrastructure Fund: Materials – Funded projects
The Circular Economy Infrastructure Fund: Materials stream supported infrastructure projects that increase capacity and improve the recovery of paper and cardboard, plastics, glass, tyres, organics and textiles.
$7.1 million was awarded to 8 infrastructure projects to increase Victoria’s capacity to process and recycle glass, organic, plastics, paper and carboard waste from the state.
Successful applicants were required to co-contribute at least:
- $3 for every $1 funded for industry applications
- $2 for every $1 funded for local government applications.
Prior to 1 July 2022, this fund was named the Recycling Victoria Infrastructure Fund: Materials.

Installing an organics decontamination processing line in Morwell that enables higher quality marketable finished products recycling from kerbside food and garden organics.
Funding: $1,000,000.
Plasgain Pty Ltd
Creating Plaspole, Australia's First Light Pole with Recycled Plastic Core, at Plasgain’s facility to manufacture light poles using post-consumer recycled content.
Funding: $250,000.
Repurpose It
Installing efficient organics decontamination technology to produce high quality compost from kerbside food and garden organics each year.
Funding: $1,000,000.

Establishing a Regional Organics Recovery Facility in the Bendigo region to process a range of organics including decontaminated kerbside FOGO.
Funding: $1,669,500.
Van Schaik’s Bio Gro Pty Ltd
Expanding the processing capacity of Bio Gro’s Dandenong South Organics Processing Facility.
Funding: $600,790.
