Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to the Expression of Interest (EOI) for participation in the 2026 ResourceSmart Schools Awards Day (EOI). By submitting an EOI, the submitting school agrees to these terms and conditions.
1. Eligibility Criteria and EOI Requirements
To be eligible to submit an EOI, each school must:
a) Be a Primary, Secondary, or P-12 School registered in Victoria.
b) Be currently ‘active’ in the ResourceSmart Schools program or, if not currently in the program, register to become a ResourceSmart School. Enrolment details can be found at Become a ResourceSmart School.
b) Submit the EOI via a staff member authorised to act on behalf of the school and to be the primary contact for all communications about the EOI.
d) Provide information that is true, accurate and complete to the best of the school’s knowledge at the time of submission.
e) Submit the EOI via the nominated submission portal – MS Forms - by the 5pm 28 May 2026, and if successful be able to provide any requested supporting information by 3pm 4 June 2026 (for example, accessibility requirements and attendee details).
2. EOI Process
a) Submission of an EOI does not guarantee a place at the 2026 ResourceSmart Schools Awards Day. Places may be limited due to venue capacity, program requirements and safety considerations.
b) EOIs that are incomplete, submitted after the closing date, or do not meet these terms and conditions may be deemed invalid and may not be progressed.
c) Sustainability Victoria (SV) reserves the right to assess EOIs, request further information, and confirm participation (including the number of attendees per school) at SV’s discretion.
3. Confirmation and Notifications
a) EOIs may be assessed against event requirements, including (as applicable) venue capacity, representation across school types/regions, and program design considerations.
b) SV will notify schools of the outcome of their EOI (for example, confirmed, waitlisted, or not progressed) by email on 29 May 2026 to the nominated contact.
c) SV’s decision regarding confirmation of participation is final.
d) The 2026 ResourceSmart Schools Awards Day is planned for 11 June 2026 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Confirmed schools will receive event details, including arrival times, consent forms, supervision expectations and accessibility arrangements.
e) If participation is confirmed, SV will advise the number of allocated tickets/places (if applicable) and any conditions that apply to attendance.
- Schools are responsible for arranging and paying for travel to and from the event, unless otherwise stated by SV in writing.
- SV will confirm what is included as part of the event (for example, catering) and what costs, if any, are payable by schools.
- If a school can no longer attend after confirmation, the school must notify SV as soon as possible so that places may be reallocated.
f) Schools must comply with all reasonable directions from SV and the venue, including any health, safety and security requirements.
g) Schools must ensure student attendance is supported by appropriate consent and supervision arrangements, including compliance with applicable child safety requirements.
h) Schools should advise SV of any accessibility requirements or other reasonable adjustments needed for attendees as part of the EOI submission, or as soon as practicable.

a) EOIs close: 28 May 2026 at 5pm (AEST).
b) EOI outcomes advised: 29 May 2026.

Schools acknowledge that SV (Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action and the Department of Education, where applicable) may photograph or film the event for promotional purposes connected with the ResourceSmart Schools program, subject to any notified restrictions.
b) SV may, to the fullest extent permitted by law, modify, suspend, reschedule or cancel the EOI process and/or the Awards Day due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, safety considerations, or operational requirements.
c) By submitting an EOI, the school confirms it has obtained (and will obtain, where required) all necessary consents to provide attendee details to SV and for any student participation, including any consents required for photography/filming and media use during or in connection with the event.
