ResourceSmart Schools helps work towards a more sustainable way of life for schools, students and the wider community. Involving students and teachers in real-life learning influences sustainable behaviour now and in the future.
|Key features of the RSS Program|
Schools can receive Sustainability Certification and can enter the ResourceSmart Schools Awards to be recognised and rewarded for school activities and achievements.
|Facilitation and support||
Sustainability experts support schools on their journey to embed sustainability into operations and provide support on how to measure and track their school progress.
Schools learn to operate more sustainably; reducing costs to save on electricity, water and waste bills – and greenhouse gas emissions to minimise their impact on the environment.
Schools work through the ResourceSmart Schools program and create a unique environmental management system tailored to their needs.
Schools are assisted to embed sustainability into all learning areas and levels of the Victorian Curriculum.
When schools sign up to the free ResourceSmart Schools program, they become part of a nationally recognised program delivered by a network of sustainability educators across Victoria, managed by Sustainability Victoria.
Once you register your interest, your regional coordinator will be in touch to provide more information on the program, confirm your eligibility and help you get set up.
They will connect you with a facilitator to help you manage the day-to-day of ResourceSmart Schools.
