Making the most of your food scraps and garden clippings

Creating high-quality compost for community gardens and farms across Victoria starts with you.

Find out why keeping rubbish out of your bin matters.

Recycling is changing for the better

Household waste and recycling services are improving to recover more from your recycling. New glass only recycling services are part of these improvements. You can help by putting your recycling in the bin loose and not in bags.

From kitchen leftovers to lush community landscapes

Merri-bek City Council and organics processor, Veolia, are providing bulk recycled compost for free in a unique collaboration to make the most of food and garden scraps locally.

Victoria's waste and recycling system is improving

The Victorian Government has invested over $515 million to deliver the biggest transformation and reform of Victoria’s waste and recycling industry. This includes $380 million to implement the circular economy policy, Recycling Victoria: a new economy which will reduce waste, boost jobs and establish a recycling system Victorians can rely on.
