With your safety in mind, Detox your Home events are now drive-through and contactless, supported by a COVIDsafe plan.
On the day, follow these safety procedures:
Follow all current public health measures at the time, including wearing a face covering if required and staying home if you feel unwell. Find the latest information and updates on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Victoria website.
If you can’t get to an event, store your household chemicals until you can safely dispose of them.

Before attending a Detox your home event it is important that you check which toxic household chemicals are accepted at these events.
To find out more, view our Items accepted and not accepted at Detox your home events page.
There is no limit on the volume of materials you drop-off, however the maximum acceptable weight or size of any single container is 20 kilograms or 20 litres.
Decanting is not permitted so bring chemicals in disposal containers.
Events may be cancelled if there are significant safety risks.
If a Code Red Fire Danger Rating has been declared in the area on collection day, the event will be cancelled.
For fire warnings call the Victorian Bushfire Information Line on 1800 240 667 or visit the Country Fire Authority website.
