Love Food Hate Waste Business - Terms and Conditions

Below are the Terms and Conditions for Program Participation and for entry into the Competition. 


Program Participation Terms and Conditions 

1. Terms and Conditions

1.1 These terms and conditions (Terms) apply to any business (Participant) who joins the Love Food Hate Waste Business program (Program) delivered by Sustainability Victoria (SV) via the Love Food Hate Waste Business website or through the sign-up form provided by our delivery partners, Reground Pty Ltd or Cool Planet Pty Ltd (Delivery Partners). By joining the Program, Participants agree to be bound by these Terms.  

2. About the Program 

2.1 The objective of the Program is to help Victorian food service businesses identify and measure food waste in their business and implement changes to reduce their business’ food waste. 

2.2 The Program is delivered in two ways:

i. Online Program – the self-directed, online version of the program is delivered via email and is available from 2nd April 2019 until further notice. 

ii. Delivery Partner Program – during the 3-month pilot period, up to 75 participants will receive in-person support from a Delivery Partner to complete the program. 

2.3 The pilot period is from 1st April to 30th June 2019. Following the pilot period, the Delivery Partner version will no longer be available however Participants will still be able to participate in the online version.  

3. Who can participate?

3.1 Any food service business operating in Victoria may participate in the Online Program. 
3.2 Participants will be eligible to receive the Delivery Partner Program if:

i. They are a food service business with one of the following ANZSIC codes: 4511, 4512, 4520, 4530;

ii. They operate in one of the following areas: Metropolitan Melbourne, Ballarat, Daylesford, Castlemaine or Werribee; 

iii. They apply via the website between 2nd April and 30th June 2019 or are approached by a Delivery Partner; and

iv. The Delivery Partner in their area has not exhausted their allocated capacity. 

3.3 Participants will be offered the Delivery Partner Program based on the above criteria and on a first-in-first-served basis. 

3.4 The Delivery Partner will be allocated to the Participant based on their location. Participants cannot select their Delivery Partner.

3.5 All Participants must agree to comply with SV’s Terms and Conditions as outlined here. 
4. Communication with Participants:

4.1 If a Participant is eligible to receive the support of a Delivery Partner and has joined via the website, they will be advised within 5 working days of completing the sign-up from of their eligibility and will be contacted by the Delivery Partner within a further 5 working days. 

4.2 Participants completing the online version of the program will receive emails from SV to assist them in completing the Program. 

4.3 All Participants will be requested to provide information to SV through surveys and other data collection methods. This information will be used to assess the effectiveness of the Program. No information collected from Participants will be published without the express permission of the Participant.

4.4 After completing the Program, Participants can request a Completion Pack be supplied to them including a certificate and promotional items. Participants can request the Completion Pack by emailing a copy of their second Food Waste Review results to SV reserves the right to choose whether to supply a Completion Pack to any Participant.  

5. General Rules for the Participation:

5.1 Any decision of SV is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

5.2 SV reserves the right to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Program at any time and for any reason.  

5.3 Participants must not use the Love Food Hate Waste, Sustainability Victoria or Victorian Government logos without receiving prior written permission from Sustainability Victoria.

6. Privacy

6.1 Any personal information provided by Participants in connection with the Program, including Participant name, age, image or contact details will only be used by SV or our authorised third party providers in connection with the Program and only in accordance with SV’s Privacy Statement available at

7. Disclaimer

7.1 SV and its Delivery Partners deliver this Program in good faith, exercising all due care and attention. Any actions taken, decisions or changes made by Participants as a result of the Program are the responsibility of the Participant. SV is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever or for any personal injury suffered or sustained, including as a result of negligence, in connection with the conduct of the Program. 

7.2 The potential yearly savings included in the Program materials are general figures only based on the information available to SV at the date of design of this Program and are an estimate only that does not consider your specific circumstances. 

7.3 SV accepts no responsibility for any inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by third parties. 

7.4 No warranty or representation is made about the accuracy, completeness or suitability of the information provided in the Program Materials or through our Delivery Partners for any particular purpose. SV and its Delivery Partners disclaim liability for any act or omission made in reliance on the information provided throughout the Program report and any consequences of any such act or omission. You should seek appropriate advice when applying the information to your specific needs. 

7.5 SV may amend these Participation Terms and Conditions at any time.


Competition Entry Terms and Conditions 

1.1 These terms and conditions (Terms) apply to any business (Participant) who submits an entry to the Love Food Hate Waste Business program competition (Program) promoted through email to Program participants in June and July 2019. The competition is run by Sustainability Victoria (SV). By submitting an entry to the Competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms.  

1.2 You may enter the competition/s if you:

(a) are an employee or owner of a business operating in Victoria who is a participant in the the Love Food Hate Waste Business online program (the Program)
(b) are over 18 years old; and 
(c) complete Step 3 of the Program before midnight 15th July 2019, which includes conducting a second Food Waste Review and completing the survey at to provide your results.

1.3 Any additional actions required of you to be eligible for the competition will be outlined at the point of promotion of the competition, such as in an email or social media post. 

1.4 The competition will be run through Sustainability Victoria's digital platforms as well as third-party platforms used by Sustainability Victoria to deliver online services, including MailChimp and SurveyMonkey.

1.5 The information provided by a Participant in entering the competition will be used to assess and promote the impact of the Program. If any Participant results will be used publicly they will be de-identified so that the source cannot be known, unless we have sought the express permission of the Participant. All participant data will be managed in accordance with SV’s Privacy Statement available at

1.6 The prize/s on offer, including their value, will be outlined at the point of promotion of the competition, such as in an email or social media post.

1.7 A business can enter the competition once only. No additional entries from the same business name will be eligible.

1.8 The closing dates for the competition is midnight Monday 15th July 2019.  Any entries received after the closing date will not be eligible for the Prize.

1.9 The winner will be drawn at random on Friday 19th July 2019 at Sustainability Victoria, Level 28, 50 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.

1.10 The Prize winner/s will be notified by the email provided at registration and will be asked to provide their address details for delivery of the Prize. 

1.11 If the Prize winner/s do not provide their address details to SV within 14 days of sending the email notifying them of the Prize and requesting them to provide such details:
(a) that Prize winner will lose his or her right to claim the Prize; and
(b) the Prize will be awarded to the next drawn entry. 

1.12 Any prize given is not transferable, negotiable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash and may be subject to an expiry date.

1.13 SV takes no responsibility for any Prize that is:
(a) damaged or lost in transit; or
(b) not redeemed before any expiry period. 

1.14 If a Prize winner does not accept any element of a Prize, SV is not obliged to provide that winner with a substitute prize.

1.15 Any decision of SV is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 

1.16 Employees of SV and their immediate families and contractors of SV associated with the Love Food Hate Waste campaign are not eligible to enter the competition.

1.17 SV will hold no responsibility for the Prize after it has been received by the Prize winner.
