Data that seeks to support investment in bioenergy.
From 1 July 2022 Recycling Victoria, a dedicated business unit within the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, will provide strategic leadership for the waste and recycling sector. The data and reports on this page will migrate to Recycling Victoria in the coming months.
Victoria's generation of biomass residues have been modelled for the Australian Biomass for Bioenergy Assessment (ABBA) project. Funded by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) the project seek so to drive investment in bioenergy.
The data has been modelled based on ABS agricultural commodity data areas and production (Agricultural Census data), National Pollutant Inventory (NPI) databases, and data collected from SV Local Government Annual surveys. All datasets are available for information purposes only. No claim is made as to the accuracy or authenticity of the data at any time.
Data is updated as new ABS datasets, and information on individual commodity residue generation are made available.
For further information on individual biomass residues data and for overlays with other infrastructure, refer to the AREMI website.
