The ResourceSmart Schools of the Future Challenge 2021 is a fun, educational activity where students can create and share their visions for a sustainable future.
The Challenge provides an opportunity for a high degree of student engagement, drawing on student voice and vision. Students will have a lot of fun completing the challenge, while gaining valuable experience in futures thinking and action planning techniques.
The Challenge is suitable for all students from P to 12 and is also a great activity for Student Action Teams.
Once schools have completed the Challenge, they can enter the ResourceSmart Schools Competition and go into the draw to win one of 15 $1,000 cash prizes to assist their school’s sustainability journey.
We’ve designed the Challenge with simplicity in mind: you only need a few resources (paper, pens and a computer), and plenty of enthusiasm.
To join the Challenge, simply participate (in your own time) in the 3 short online sessions (available here from 21 April).
They can be completed one at a time, or all at once. The sessions are easy for teachers to run. We’ll help you get started by running through everything and answering your questions at teacher info sessions.
Schools can run the Challenge as many times as they like, and it’s available to all schools. You don’t need to register to part of the Challenge.
Only active ResourceSmart Schools are eligible to enter the Competition.
