Pick the right wreath

Glittery, plastic wreaths on our doors can be harmful to birds and insects. They are also difficult to recycle and may end up in landfill.

You can make your own wreath using a coat-hanger and seasonal foliage from your garden. Or get creative and use fabric from clothes, sheets or tea-towels that might be past their best.

You could also invest in a sustainable Christmas wreath, made from wood, recycled metal, felt or other fabric.

Check out the Festive Recycled Arts and Crafts Guide from Planet Ark which includes a how-to guide for making your own festive wreaths in two different styles.
