ResourceSmart Schools Awards – How to enter
Nominations for the 2023 ResourceSmart Schools Awards are now open.
The awards celebrate all steps towards a sustainable future – no action is too small. Schools and individuals achieving great things are invited to nominate in the following award categories:
- Campus Infrastructure and Operations
- Emerging School of the Year
- School Volunteer of the Year
- Teacher of the Year (primary and secondary)
- Student Action Team of the Year (primary and secondary)
- Community Leadership School of the Year (primary and secondary)
- Curriculum Leadership School of the Year (primary and secondary)
- ResourceSmart School of the Year.
Eligibility
Only active ResourceSmart Schools are eligible to enter. Schools must have completed an action in ResourceSmart Schools Online between 1 July 2022 – 26 March 2023.
The following categories have special eligibility criteria:
RSS of the Year: Schools entering the ResourceSmart School of the Year category must have at least 3Star ResourceSmart Schools certification.
Volunteer of the Year: To qualify as a volunteer, the individual or group must not have been remunerated for their time/activities
Emerging school of the Year: The school must have signed an RSS MOU during 1 July 2021 – 26 March 2023 for the first time and/or set a resource baseline during 1 July 2021 – 26 March 2023.

Support for your entry
It's been a busy year for our ResourceSmart Schools community. We want to provide extra support to help you reflect on how you and your school have achieved great things towards a more sustainable future.

Instant feedback
- Request a 15-minute meeting with an Education Team member to get support and feedback.
- Edit your entry on the ResourceSmart Schools Awards portal by 26 March at 23:59 pm.
Photo consent
If your school becomes a finalist you’ll be featured in the ResourceSmart Schools Awards 2023 publication and other communications.
Please make sure to provide:
- at least one good quality image of your school activities and
- consent forms for anyone prominently featured in the photos submitted with your entry.
