ResourceSmart Schools Awards 2022

For the 13th edition of the ResourceSmart Schools Awards, we are delighted to celebrate everyone who has been working so hard, Now for the Future.
Tomorrow’s leaders have arrived – our young people and schools are already leading the way on sustainability, creating real impact for Victorian communities beyond the school gate.
We celebrate everyone in our ResourceSmart Schools community who has worked to incorporate sustainability into the curriculum over the past year and everyone who entered this year’s Awards.
Award categories
The 2022 award categories will honour winners and finalists in the following categories:
- Emerging School of the Year – a new category to celebrate a school that has recently started the ResourceSmart Schools journey
- School Volunteer of the Year
- Teacher of the Year (primary and secondary)
- Student Action Team of the Year (primary and secondary)
- Community Leadership School of the Year (primary and secondary)
- Curriculum Leadership School of the Year (primary and secondary)
- ResourceSmart School of the Year.
Event information
The 2022 ResourceSmart Schools Awards ceremony is designed to be a positive, fun-filled event that focusses on student empowerment and leadership.
We are thrilled to announce that Sammy J will host the 2022 ResourceSmart School Awards. Sammy J is an Australian comedian, writer, composer, and broadcaster. He has played in Edinburgh, Montreal and London; had a sitcom on Netflix; is one half of the man–puppet comedy duo Sammy J & Randy; creates weekly satirical sketches for ABC TV and currently hosts the breakfast show on ABC Radio Melbourne.
This premier event is by invitation only, with all finalists, event sponsors, 5 Star Schools, delivery partners (CERES, Environment Education Victoria, and Eastern Alliance for Sustainable Learning), the State Minister for the Environment, Victoria’s Chief Environmental Scientist, the Victorian Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability in attendance.

Event attendees are invited to join a 45-minute tour of the MCG to learn about the award-winning sustainability initiatives at this world-class sporting arena.

Build the Change hosted by the LEGO Group
The LEGO Group will facilitate a play session to engage students on real-world sustainability challenges and to amplify their creative ideas for a better future.
