Questions and answers

We have added questions received from interested parties, with our responses following each question.

We have only listed questions and answers that are not addressed on the Materials (paper and cardboard, plastic, glass) grants page or Guidelines.

Questions and answers are listed from newest to oldest.

I have a smaller scale project, can I still apply?
Yes. The Fund seeks to maximise public value and return on investment in the industry by supporting projects that meet or exceed the minimum co-contribution requirement for funding. This is not intended to discourage applications in respect of smaller scale projects that demonstrate significant public value (and which also meet the co-contribution requirement).

Can I receive other government funding?
Yes, however funding from other government sources (including federal, state or local) cannot be included in your co-contribution.

Can a business submit more than one application?
Yes, an organisation may submit more than one application, however each application must meet the eligibility criteria and the project must demonstrate how it addresses the merit criteria and objectives of the program.

Are textiles included for funding?
No, not at this time. Additional funding rounds may be available at a later stage targeting projects for other material types such as organics, tyres and textiles.

Are Waste to Energy projects included for funding?
No, this funding is seeking to build capability and capacity and quality products for remanufacturing. The government has announced additional funding for Waste to Energy projects that will be released in the near future. Please register your interest for updates if you would like to be advised when this funding becomes available.

Will funding exclude projects based on stockpiles?
The Fund is not intended to focus on projects to recover stockpiles projects that have secondary benefits (eg potential to support Victoria to process existing stockpiles) will be considered, providing the application demonstrates how it meets the objectives of the program.

Will grants focus on education programs?
No, funding is available for infrastructure projects that demonstrate the outcomes of the program.

Can SV review a draft of my grant application, or assist me in my application?
No, this being a competitive process, we are unable to review a draft or provide feedback on the potential merit of a project.
