Recycling Victoria Infrastructure Fund

The Recycling Victoria Infrastructure Fund commits new funding to target infrastructure for priority materials, such as paper and cardboard, plastic, glass and hazardous solvent waste.

The Recycling Victoria Infrastructure Fund is designed to assist businesses to improve the quality of materials recovered and increase the capacity and capability of Victoria’s resource recovery sector.

Hazardous waste (solvents) grants

There is $11.5 million available for infrastructure to improve the recycling of solvents.

Materials (paper and cardboard, plastic, glass) grants

There is $28 million available across three materials for infrastructure projects to improve the recycling or reprocessing of paper and cardboard, plastics and glass.

Expressions of interest for both grants must be received by 3pm, 8 May 2020.

Background information

The Recycling Victoria Infrastructure Fund will help strengthen the local resource recovery sector by:

  • increasing resilience to changing market conditions for recycled commodities
  • helping businesses prepare for a Federal Government ban on exporting recyclable materials
  • maximising opportunity to build local industries and create jobs.
