Recovered resources market bulletin

Victoria is aiming to grow the recovery of resources such as cardboard, glass, metals, paper and plastics, and further increase opportunities for infrastructure investment.

This March update on markets for recycled materials in Victoria is the first of 12 monthly bulletins. Each bulletin is designed to provide up to date information on the quantity and destination of materials recovered for recycling, and issues and opportunities for resource recovery in Victoria.

Envisage Works has produced this bulletin for Sustainability Victoria as part of a pilot project to inform industry, government and the community about waste and resource recovery.

This is only a pilot project, and we encourage you to provide feedback to inform the remaining 11 publications.

It has been written by industry specialists and does not constitute advice or government opinion.

Bulletins will offer a monthly overview of:

  • recycled material flows to local and overseas markets
  • changes to export recyclables markets
  • implications for kerbside recyclables markets, and
  • the opportunities and developments by industry, government and others to improve the resilience and performance of kerbside markets.
