Solar Victoria has today announced that 10 new job opportunities, to be located in Morwell, are open for applications.
The Victorian Government has established an independent agency, Solar Victoria, to work with industry, regulators and training organisations to deliver the Solar Homes Package.
Until 30 June, 2019, the package provides a 50 per cent rebate on the cost of a solar PV system, up to a maximum of $2,225, or a $1,000 rebate on the cost of a solar hot water system.
All current available opportunities at Solar Victoria can be found on the Victorian Government careers website. Further opportunities at Solar Victoria will become available over time.
Solar Victoria Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Leake said that “we’re excited the Solar Homes Package makes solar PV systems more affordable than ever before.”
“Households will be able to save on average $890 per year off their bill through installing a solar PV system, and between $160–$400 a year off their bill by replacing their current water heater with a solar option,” said Mr Leake.
“It’s important to note that under the Solar Homes Package, solar panel systems will only be installed by accredited solar installers using approved products,” he said.
Consumers can register their interest at the Solar Victoria website. Consumers can also find out about the steps required to be part of the program at www.solar.vic.gov.au.
