Accrediting Organisations for Thermal Performance Assessors in Victoria
The industry-based accreditation system in Victoria means that Accrediting Organisations have undertaken to maintain a high minimum standard to ensure ongoing respect for the work of Thermal Performance Assessors within the state's regulatory framework.
This accreditation system provides a quality of service and more opportunity for relevant professional development.
Currently the following organisations are recognised under the VICTORIAN protocol for Accrediting Organisations.
Building Designers Association of Victoria
The Building Designers Association Victoria (BDAV) has signed an agreement with Sustainability Victoria to uphold the Victorian Protocol for Accrediting Organisations and accredits assessors to provide energy ratings for houses in Victoria. The BDAV represents the building design profession and promotes professionalism, accountability and integrity in the various services building design professionals provide to their clients.
The BDAV offers a technical and software help desk, regular updates, business development support and access to professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

National Accreditation is also recognised in Victoria and assessors can become Nationally accredited as an alternative to Victorian Accreditation.
