This flow chart details the typical SV recruitment process. This is an average indication and the process may be longer, shorter or slightly different than shown here, depending on the circumstances.

To apply for a role at Sustainability Victoria you need to submit a written application by the closing date.
All SV applications are submitted through the careers website www.careers.vic.gov.au
The purpose of written applications is to:
- Show how you meet the selection criteria and summarise your ability to do the role by way of your covering letter and curriculum vitae.
- Get you an interview, or to the next stage of the assessment.
Your application should include:
- Your covering letter, including name, address and phone contact.
- The role you are applying for.
- Your curriculum vitae, including any qualifications you have.
- Contacts for referees - people who can vouch for your capacity to do the job.
Present your application well as it will determine whether you get to the next stage. Use:
- Proper spelling and grammar.
- Good layout eg spacing, clear headings, neat and tidy.
It is always useful to get someone to read each draft of your application, give you feedback and check the final draft for any errors.
