We have a truly diverse workforce at Sustainability Victoria. Our organisation is made up of people from a range of different backgrounds and employment experiences. We see that as one of our strengths.

Everybody in Sustainability Victoria has a performance plan, this is important to ensure staff are clear about their goals and can experience achievement when they meet them, and to ensure accountability in relation to the organisation's broader strategic goals.  We also ask that staff identify appropriate training and development opportunities through the performance planning and review processes and in conjunction with their manager and performance coach.

We encourage and support staff to grow and develop within their roles at SV and we want our staff to be eligible for progression within SV as suitable vacancies and opportunities arise.

The Employment Experience

Christian Bertsch - Manager Sustainable Precincts SV Journey - Christian Bertsch, Manager Sustainable Precincts

I started working at Sustainability Victoria in December 2005 and quickly realized this is a place where people share my enthusiasm and motivation to tackle the issue of climate change. For me SV is a work place where I can really make a difference and make projects and initiatives to reduce Victoria's greenhouse gas impact happen on the ground.

SV has given me great opportunities to further my career in the clean technology space. In 2007 for example SV was very supportive when I wanted to work in Europe for half a year as part of a professional secondment to Invest Victoria, another Victorian State Government agency. More recently I have been given the opportunity to manage a team and be closely involved in the organisation's business planning process.
