Premier's Sustainability Awards 2010Premier's Sustainability Awards 2010 logo

Submissions now open

Victorian businesses, community groups, schools, individuals and government agencies are invited to enter the Premier's Sustainability Awards for 2010.

"This year's awards are focussed on organisations and people who have done the hard yards and met the sustainability challenge head-on," said Gavin Jennings, Minister for Environment and Climate Change.

"We believe it is important to recognise and acknowledge those people and organisations who have shown leadership, innovation and outstanding achievement in rising to the challenge of sustainability.

Mr Jennings said businesses that become sustainable are more likely to have an economic advantage by adopting a triple bottom line that looks at financial, social and environmental costs.

"In addition, businesses can create sustainable solutions through their influence with companies in the supply chain which in turn improve their sustainability and increase opportunities with consumers, suppliers and government," he said.

The Awards are in their eighth year, with Sustainability Victoria managing the awards on behalf of the Premier since 2007.

The eight Award categories are:

  • Community Award
  • Small Business Award
  • Large Business Award
  • Products or Services Award
  • Built Environment Award
  • Tertiary Education Award (new)
  • Local Government Award (new)
  • State Government Award (new)

Submissions close 10 February 2010
