Disclaimer to access interactive solar map
The Horizontal Solar Exposure data displayed in the interactive map has been supplied by the Bureau of Meteorology. Solar irradiation (energy) falling on a surface can vary considerably depending on the slope of the surface. Examples from the Australian Solar Radiation Data Handbook illustrate that in summer the amount of solar irradiation is similar for a sloped surface and a horizontal surface. However, in winter a surface on a 30° slope will receive up to 60% more irradiation than a horizontal surface.
The Bureau of meteorology has more detailed data from satellite measurement
