Project Planning

Decisions made in all stages of a construction project determine the amount of resources consumed and how much waste is created. For example, planning to maximise the salvage of items during demoliton may reduce the cost of demolition activity. Therefore planning for waste reduction in the initial stages of a project is critical to maximising profitability.

The Waste Wise Construction & Demolition Kit is designed to help developers, project managers and builders minimise waste in projects. The practical tools in this kit include:

Identify where waste may be generated in the design, specification and purchasing phases as well as on-site.

Set priorities and measure your success.

Set waste recovery targets in demolition.

Include contractors in the commitment to waste minimisation.
