Waste Wise is becoming ResourceSmart
Schools involved in Waste Wise can now work towards becoming ResourceSmart schools. Developing a waste management plan is an excellent way to reduce litter, waste and associated disposal costs in your school, at the same time creating worthwhile learning opportunities for students and instilling environmental awareness and responsibility at an early age.
The ResourceSmart Schools Waste program will integrate with AuSSI Vic to ensure that whole school communities join in the sustainability journey.
Delivered by CERES in 2008, education officers of Regional Waste Management Groups, local Councils, environmental contractors and centres and the Department of Education & Training, Catholic Education Office and Victorian Principals Association, the program offers specific benefits to participating schools.
