Green Purchasing

Green purchasing is about integrating environmental considerations into purchasing decisions.  Victorian local government has led the way in stimulating demand for recycled and environmentally preferred products. Sustainability Victoria, in partnership with the Municipal Association of Victoria, established the Local Government Buy Recycled Alliance, which is now an expanded ECO-Buy program. Through this program, significant inroads have been made into changing purchasing policies and practice in member councils.
