Second generation tools

The National House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) has adopted second generation software tools. First generation tools (such as FirstRate 4) have not been able to be used in Victoria since the end of April 2009. Currently two other software tools comply with the national protocols, although others may become available. For more information go to the NatHERS website.

AccuRate

AccuRate was developed by CSIRO and is the second generation successor to the NatHERS software and provides the basis for FirstRate5. It provides a sophisticated method of measuring the energy performance of homes. More information can be found at www.hearne.com.au

BERS Pro

BERS Pro meets the National Construction Code (NCC) second generation protocols. It has undergone NatHERS/AGO accreditation.

BERS Pro incorporates a state of the art 2-D graphical user interface to the CSIRO thermal simulation engine, maintaining a balance between speed of use and accuracy.
