Software Updates
The files listed here are the latest patches for FirstRate. These will either address problems or enable additional features to be incorporated into the software.
Version 5.0.215 update for FirstRate5
New features & fixes in this update:
- Moved calculation process out of "c:\program files". This helps with Vista compatibility.
- Sped up network file saves
- Fixed ventilation item entry on plan view (eg chimneys)
- Changed name of "base height" of walls to "split wall base height"
Added extra warnings eg if all walls in zone have non-zero base height - General calculation improvements
- Resolved issue with files scores changing with each calculate
- Resolved rare cases where cooling energy level was unreasonably high
- Resolved issue with "Connects To" field in Zoning screen
- Resolved issue with internal openings in Added walls
All users of FirstRate5 should download and install this update.
Installation
- Download the file to your computer.
- Unzip it and then run FR5_patch_50v215.exe (eg double click).
- Follow the prompts
- This patch will update the original FirstRate5 release
- FirstRate5 must be closed when running the patch
FirstRate5 - build 5.0.176
Version 4.06 update for FirstRate 4.0
This update adds a new sub-floor ventilation type "Enclosed-Disconnected".
This sub-floor ventilation type may be selected if:
- the subfloor is 'enclosed'
- the only ventilation openings are those required for compliance with building codes
- any wall cavity that connects the subfloor to the roofspace or outside air is continuously blocked around its perimeter (eg by flashing)
It is advised that all users of FirstRate 4.x should download and install this update.
Note: This release (4.06a) fixes a bug in the original 4.06 when using some floor coverings (floating timber, cork).
Installation
- Download the file to your computer.
- Open the zip file, execute Fr406_up.exe and follow the prompts.
- FirstRate must be closed when running the patch.
Please note: this update is applicable only to Victorian climates.
Version 3.54 update for FirstRate 3.5 and 3.51
This update fixes several minor issues with the software and adds many new custom (WERS) windows. It also incorporates all changes made in the 3.51 update. It is strongly advised that all users of FirstRate 3.5 and 3.51 should download and install this update.
Installation
Download the file to your computer and follow the prompts.
- This patch will update both the original FirstRate 3.5 release and the patched release (3.51)
- FirstRate must be closed when running the patch
FirstRate 3.5 has been released. This is a free upgrade for owners of FirstRate 3.1. If you have not received a copy of the new software, please contact Sustainability Victoria.
