Sustainability in Government
We work with local governments, and state and federal government agencies to further sustainable actions for Victoria and Australia.
We are involved in the following initiatives:
- Our Environment Our Future
Our Environment Our Future is a $200 million action plan to help government, industry, businesses and households to protect our assets for future generations. - National Framework for Energy Efficiency
The Framework delivers economic, environmental and social benefits through enhanced energy efficiency. - Towards Zero Waste Strategy
Towards Zero Waste establishes the goals and directions for Victoria's solid waste management and resource recovery framework. - Product Stewardship
Product stewardship recognises that manufacturers, retailers, government and consumers share a responsibility to manage the impacts of products throughout their lifecycle, including their ultimate disposal. - Renewable Energy
The Victorian Government is working towards an energy system that is sustainable as well as secure, efficient and affordable. Accelerating renewable energy development is part of this broader strategy. - Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Scheme
The Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) Scheme will play a role in achieving the Government's targets of reducing emissions from households by 10 per cent by 2010, and Victoria's overall emissions to 60 per cent below the level it was in 2000 by 2050. To read more about the issues paper on VEET and how you can submit comments, read the latest media release or visit the DPI website. - Victoria's New Litter Strategy - Creating Cleaner, Safer Places
Creating Cleaner, Safer Places - Working together to remove litter from Victoria's environment sets the directions for a coordinated state wide approach to litter prevention and management.
