The Victorian Government will continue its work to identify and address barriers to renewable energy, in the medium and longer term. 

The key areas of future focus for the Victorian Government are:

  • energy market reform
  • technology innovation (e.g. energy storage)
  • ensuring the benefits of renewable energy are realised locally in terms of investment, employment and the environment
  • competition in regional renewable energy markets
  • assessing the options for the use of biofuels to meet our transport needs
