Take action on climate change

Acting on climate change is fundamental for a thriving, resilient Victoria. Victorians already feel the effects of climate change through bushfires, floods, heatwaves and coastal erosion.

Local government, individuals and community groups are leading the way in climate change action, delivering innovative projects at a local level in response to this global issue.

Sustainability Victoria connects and supports communities, building local and regional resilience and protecting the natural beauty and liveability of our towns and cities.

Climate Change Community Conversations

We recently held a series of nine ‘Climate Change Community Conversations’ across regional Victoria to connect with individuals and groups taking action on climate change in their local communities.

Each event showcased some of Victoria’s innovative community led projects, and explored what communities saw as the key issues challenges, opportunities and priorities for climate change in their region.

These events are part of an ongoing conversation with communities to help inform and shape our programs.

To join in the conversation, showcase your local community project and hear about some of the inspiring work local government and communities groups are already doing to address climate change locally, go to the Climate Change Conversations site.

Showcasing local projects

To support the Climate Change Community Conversations seven video case studies were produced to showcase successful and inspiring community led projects.
